Note to members

Meals at work vs your rights

In the present context of budgetary cuts, a few of our members have addressed issues with the lack of food.

To answer the many questions asked, here are your rights:

Your working conditions provide that an employee is entitled to a single full meal including dessert and beverage, per worked shift, therefore if you chose to exceed beyond your rights, be aware that you expose yourself to various disciplinary measures.

According to article 26.01 of the national collective agreement, the employer would be within his rights to
reimburse himself by deducting from your salary:

...'' the price of each meal shall be by item, but the price of a full
meal shall not exceed:''

                Breakfast:           $1.85

                Lunch:                   $4.20

                Supper:                $4.20
